When you bring your child to a dentist or orthodontist’s office, they may be a little scared at first. Dr. Sara and Dr. Tiya understand a child’s apprehension. You will see calming, neutral colors as you tour our office spaces. Exterior windows throughout the building are frosted for privacy but allow an incredible amount of natural light.
Our offices are located in a beautiful, modern building and employ a simple interior design to showcase our state-of-the-art equipment. As you enter our office from the street, the receptionist’s area is the first thing you see. Our artwork is a simple geometric design above our seating area. We think our chairs kind of look like cats!
Moving around our receptionist’s area, you enter our main dental treatment room. As you can see, everything is clean and tidy. We made some changes to ensure that our patients, families, and staff remained safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Each office area is brightly lit and includes design features such as wall sconces with beautiful hanging plants. Our choice of gray and neutral colors stems from research that gray is a calming color. This adds to the overall atmosphere of our offices.
Although parents may find it odd for a pediatric dental office not to have a cartoon zoo painted on the walls, it is relaxing for children. We live in a world of over-stimulation. We want children to remain calm and relaxed at the dentist or orthodontist.
Join our doctors on an office tour to learn more about our orthodontic services, explore our calming and child-friendly environment, and discover the state-of-the-art equipment we utilize. Below the video, you will find a description of the equipment your child will encounter in our offices and answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about orthodontics treatment.
Dental Chairs
These unique chairs are designed for comfort. Each chair is ergonomically engineered to provide patient comfort and functionality for the doctor and technicians. Since ergonomic is a pretty big word, we like to think our chairs are designed like gaming chairs. The chairs can adjust into many positions, from sitting to fully reclining.
Utility Equipment
This equipment category provides the power for the equipment that we use with every patient. This is such a broad category that we can’t name everything, but utility equipment is the backbone of the office. Utility equipment powers the water and suctioning systems and our intraoral scanning systems and supplies the power that allows the chair to adjust into many positions!
X-Ray and Digital Imaging Equipment
X-rays have been an integral part of dentistry for a long time. Because X-rays see beneath the skin to the bone, they can help the doctor detect several health problems, including:
- Gum disease.
- Infections.
- Cavities.
- Future tooth growth.
X-rays allow dentists and orthodontists to see potential problems and correct them. Digital X-ray equipment allows more precise imaging. Using computer software, X-rays can be expanded to provide better diagnostic abilities.
Digital intraoral scanning equipment looks like a stick, but it is a high-speed camera that can take up to 6,000 images per minute. As the doctor moves the wand around inside the mouth, computer software builds a 3-dimensional “map” of the mouth. The doctor uses this map to create a treatment plan for braces or Invisalign. It also allows the doctor to show you an image of what your smile will look like after treatment is complete.
